IcyBreeze Buddy Recall Notice

We’re reaching out with an important safety message regarding the IcyBreeze Buddy misting fan. In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), IcyBreeze is voluntarily recalling all Buddy units sold.

Why Is the Buddy Being Recalled?

A potential safety issue has been identified with the Buddy’s misting system. Under certain conditions, the system may experience an electrical overload, which could pose a safety risk. While no serious incidents have been reported, we are taking proactive steps to protect our customers by removing all Buddy units from the market.

Please note: This recall affects the IcyBreeze-branded Buddy product only and does not involve any other IcyBreeze products.

Please discontinue use of the Buddy product immediately and do not attempt to modify or repair the product on your own.

How to Recieve Your Credit

Step 1: Submit the Recall Form
Complete the short form linked below to start the process. You'll be asked to upload a photo showing that your Buddy unit has been safely disabled.

Step 2: Disable the Product and Provide Photo Proof

Important: Please do not discard or recycle your Buddy product or battery until your credit has been approved and received.
You must retain the unit until the recall has been processed. It may take up to 60 days before you recieve your refund.

How to Safely Disable Your Buddy (But Do Not Discard Yet):

To ensure your unit is permanently disabled, please follow the instructions below:

1. Remove the 12V battery from the base of the Buddy misting fan.

2. Find the power supply “brick” that came with your unit. Make sure it’s unplugged.

3. Of the two cables attached, unplug the detachable AC cord. Then locate the permanently attached cable that ends in a round metal connector.

4. Cut the permanently attached cable using scissors or wire cutters.

5. Write a short note by hand with:

- Your full name
- Phone number
- Today’s date

6. Take a clear photo showing:

- The cut power supply cable
- Your handwritten note beside it

7. Upload the photo along with your order details via the Recall Form here.

After submission:

Once your submission is reviewed and approved, you’ll receive a $150 credit by email. Please allow up to 60 days for you to recieve your refund.

After receiving your credit:

- Discard the fan unit (excluding the battery) in your household trash.
- Recycle the lithium battery through your local hazardous waste collection site.

Note: Never place lithium-ion batteries in curbside trash or recycling bins.
